Unless the pulley's are sized for the 1/4" cable they won't fit. Might damage the cable plus might jump off of the pulley... Is it possible to replace the pulley's with the 1/4" size? Or, a wild gues

The wire from the pole to the house is intentionally undersized for a reason. It's to limit the fault current should a line to line or line to ground short occur in your meter socket or house panel.

I was told the proper method is to raise the tower whatever distance is needed to expose the rotor. Then place a support (it was said a 2" pipe long enough to hold the inner tower section high enough
