http://www.animatedknots.com/ There are some hitch knots described there with references to lifting poles/spars. A very nice site to just wander around if nothing else. But I don't make any recommend
When you run the rotors on a roof tower like that do you hear it in the house? -Chris _______________________________________________ _______________________________________________ TowerTalk mailing
Picked up a tower for $15 at a garage sale, looks like a typical free standing tapered jobby. On the base section on the X is DMX-B-128. Google seems to associate that with "Delhi Towers DMX Brackete
So the university club station I'm associated with needs to lean over their tower and do some antenna maintenance. The issue is in today's climate for someone to walk down to the corner of the sloped
I'm asking for prior art or ideas in a mid-guy service disconnect. Certainly open to the conclusion such a thing isn't viable. Its not likely that many people can reach up and grab the middle of thei
An update. Looks like we not only need a lift, but an anchor installed to tie off while we are standing on the roof to crank on the winch to lower/raise the tower. All told this formerly self suffici
So I haven an 80M loop I usually only get to use for sweepstakes every year, rest of the time the feed line is coiled up in a tree. I have had opportunity to bring it inside and setup a "permanent" o

After getting out tower down and getting a look at it, several traps were missing their internal spacers. They had disintegrated and fallen out after the black caps did the same, the can then shorted
I got a response from hy-gain in the meantime, 461466 "trap spacer" it appears is what I need. $0.98 each. So now I guess its a question of buying $16 worth or having the satisfaction of making them.
I got some 6" bulkhead connectors from max-gain systems. They look nice enough and seem to work ok so far. Also some of their silver plated connectors but I haven't tried those yet. -- -Chris _______
Friend likes to tell the story of bringing a small telescope and sighting the stinging insect nest/swarm at the top of a 300' tower before climbing, rather than after all that work. -- -Chris _______
