The further the better. However, I have a 65 footer with a KT34XA on it about 80 feet from my 200 foot 40 meter tower. I don't really think there is any minimum distance, as far as interaction goes.

My guess is the unit might have had previous damage from the tower failure that wasn't bad enough to totally kill the shaft. Only now, did it totally let go. Bill K4XS (with 9 T2X units in use) _____

Daniel Rohn 25 is not meant to be freestanding at that height. Maximum freestanding for what you are putting up is around 20 to 25 feet. Recommended hole is 2.6 by 2.6 by 3 feet deep. Bill __________
