Roger try putting some thick walled heat shrink over the jaws like 3/4" and shrink it down. Yes it needs to be replaced every so often but it sure protects the connector shell. Doug I wasn't born in

My opinion of a Trylon is much different than yours. A Trylon is not like a Rohn HDBX. A Trylon is much, much stronger. Doug I wasn't born in Saskatchewan, but I got here as soon as I could. --Origin
Telrex tribanders like the TB6EM have traps on the driven and director elements. These traps have a stainless screw at each end which appears to secure the trap to the aluminum element tubing at each
Try a #6 clamp and lubricate it well with say Liquid Wrench so it doesn't tightening doesn't wreck the clamp. Doug I wasn't born in Saskatchewan, but I got here as soon as I could. --Original Message
I keep telling you guys to lubricate those clamps (Liquid Wrench) and they won't strip as easy. But nobody listens. Doug I wasn't born in Saskatchewan, but I got here as soon as I could. --Original M
Here we go again; over engineering something so simple. Torque specifications for a gear clamp used to secure one piece of tubing inside another - really? Here is how to do it in the real world. Tigh
No one is pointing fingers. I don't know where you got that idea. Just what were the original design requirements for this gear clamp? And just what are the performance limitations for my real world
Take a look at a gear clamp. One band slides over the other as the clamp is tightened or loosened. There is obviously friction between the bands and as the clamp is tightened the friction increases.
My problem with the torque method is so you torque the clamp to specs and yet you can still turn the smaller element inside the larger. So torquing in this application in meaningless. You tighten the
Jim, How many SS hose clamps have you stripped? I stripped too many because I could not get the clamp tight enough to prevent the smaller element from turning inside the larger. I also found that wit

This is why America is going out of business. Most of the stuff is made in China anyway so why not buy direct from China. Go to AliExpress and search for heat shrink tubing. Lots to choose from, chea

Jim, Sad indeed. You appear to have more information about the events leading up to the fall. I have heard nothing as to the cause. So can you fill in the details for me? What was Milt doing that cau
I've said this many times but it doesn't penetrate thick skulls who insist on climbing when they shouldn't be. "If you are not ABLE (I stress the word able) to free climb, then you should NOT climb a
