I have two, one of which has a fan speed control used to speed the fan for am operations with drive power set at 60 watts. When used on SSB the fan is slowed t very quite and drive run at 100 watts.

Thank you Bob, I did not like the reports I got from the Centurion driven by the Johnson Viking. I got better reports with the Johnson with the 60 watt carrier, I did not calculate AM or had a readou

Oh yes, for AM 60 watts would be excessive, based on my experience. The Centurion has about 10 dB gain (+ a bit depending on band). Thus 60 watts in would produce 600 out. At 600 watts, AM carrier mo
