Hello all, I understand the Scout has a problem with drift when using the internal keyer, especially at higher speeds. I guess this is a result of the way the micropocessor handles frequency correcti

The answer to your question is NO: the problem does not go away if you use an external keyer. It does not matter if you are using the internal keyer or an external keyer. The microprocessor looks at

These legends get recycled periodically and no doubt will continue as long as the Scout remains popular..... If you're referring to the keying/drift compensation problem, unfortunately this one is mo

Seem to remember reading that the 'drift' issue was due to over compensation of the PTO. Just do not recall when or where I read this. BTW anyone have any experience with quieting down the "hiss" in

Actually, it has been my experience that the problem is worse with external keying, at least when I use a straight key, I experienced very severe warmup drift. Putting in the mod described in QST a c

The archives of this list contain many postings on cures for Scout drift while the microcontroller is occupied with keyer duty. Fan on the heat sink at full power seems to help. There were in QST som
