USB to serial cables work great to read the Orion. i am using one in Win7 to communicate with the radio from LOGic8. the two that i bought work fine, both came from LOGic. they have no brand label on

Great that's exactly what I am looking for. I'd really appreciate it, if you could tell me the settings that you put in. LP-Bridge default to 4800 but I know the Orion is far better than that.  Some
