The FM button can be fun. When 10 meters is open, the repeaters up in the 29.600 area are a blast. The squelch circuit on the Omni VI works quite well, and is quieter than other FM receivers I've use

like That's one reason I sold my Omni 6+ and bought a Yazoo 1000D (no boos please !) Whenever I wanted to do some quick SWL'ing I had to switch to my Drake R-8A or to yak with some of my AM buddies

In my estimation, the AM found on SSB rigs isn't worth the time of day. My old Drake T4X worked pretty well with controlled carrier modulation, but a later Kenwood required critical adjustments. Any
