I just acquired a Ten Tec Centaur 411 amp from an SK estate. As it turns out, it was never updated for 12/10m use. Ten Tec noted they did not have the board to enable 10m. Any suggestions on a possib

Perry If your coming to the Mansfield hamfest Sunday, bring that info with you. I can easily lay out a pcb for the amp. Mike wb8vge Sent from my iPhone _______________________________________________
I did the mod from the schematic and parts that T-T sent on a perfboard - it really isn't much, but, before hand, I pulled the 15 meter filter and put in a jumper wire - it worked like a charm w/o th
See the schematic for the Centurion. Although I recall the board being different, the filter circuit is the same. 73 Bob, K4TAX I did the mod from the schematic and parts that T-T sent on a perfboard
SAY WHAT? The FCC Rules under which we operate REQUIRE that we suppress the harmonics produced by an output stage. That filter is there to suppress those harmonics, so replacing it with a wire means
That filter is in the input. It's design was to prevent the amp from working on ten meters. Mike wb8vge Sent from my iPhone _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@
I think perhaps you misunderstood. It sounds like there was an extra filter on the input to block anything above 15m. Removing that would not necessarily produce spurious emissions. Best regards - Br
Mike: I don't have it here. The "club" I referred to was the LST radio club, an actual club but without meetings, that has the call WW2LST. This is where the schematic and part into is located. I wil
I kinda though so... Bryon with an amplifier? Shudder shudder Mike Sent from my iPhone _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.contestin

The filter is a Low Pass filter with a nominal cut-off at about 23 MHz or slightly above 15M. As designed this prevents operation above this frequency being on the 12/10M bands. This filter also prov
The absence of a low pass filter on the input stage of a linear amplifier doesn't always mean that you will automatically have unacceptable harmonics. Radio amateurs have use linear amplifiers for ye
My comments re: harmonic suppression were based on this statement. If W8AU is mistaken and the the filter in question is an INPUT network, my comments do not apply. :) 73, Jim K9YC 7 ________________
Though Brian is correct, it is still bad practice to do this because it does cause additional distortion in your signal. If you use an input filter rather than just direct coupling (with or without a
Focus guys focus. The manual , p 5-1, tells it all. When I did the modification, T-T was most helpful and sent the schematic and the parts! (no charge - inductors and caps and all). This was a few ye
This amp does not have a tuned input but does have a 250 ohm 25W swamping resistor terminating the input, and electrically located on the output of the 15 meter filter. The "15 meter filter" is a low
