Looking at the Unofficial and official Ten-Tec web sites, I see only one amplifier by Ten-Tec that uses 811A tubes. This is the Centaur 411 which uses three 811As. Has Ten-Tec never made an amplifer

As to using 572B's in the Centaur 411, there is no advantage unless the power supply is adequately beefed up to take advantage of the increased dissipation and thus higher output rating. 73 Bob, K4TA

Ken, I have 3 in my Centaur. They allow slightly higher grid current. So you might not have to watch the grid drive as carefully. They have slightly higher plate dissipation. Ed, N5EI _______________

I'm using 572B's in the Centaur 411. They are a direct replacement for the 811A's. No additional power out but much hardier tubes. Gary W7TEA _______________________________________________ TenTec ma

The advantage is the 572-B is more rugged, the Centaur and Collins 30L-1 are running those 811A's pretty hard, they get pretty hot. Many have replaced the 811A's with 572B's and been happy about the
