- Noting that I'm somewhat of a Spartan/minimalist mentality as well as being a tightwad, my approach would be "drive it 'til it dies" (i.e. is unrepairable or not cost effective to fix) if you like it

- I agree; keep using a radio as long as it meets your needs. For that very reason, I kept the Corsair-II w/ ext VFO and PS all bought new as part of my station, even when I bought the Paragon for MARS
