Interesting that ARRL found the fan to be noisy in their review. Well, I just ordered one, after thinking about playing with some digital modes -- so I wonder if I'll get one of the "noisy" ones, or

Guys, Place a few diodes (i.e., 1N4007) in series with the +13v to the fan and watch the noise disappear! The reality is, it doesn't take much air movement to keep the rig cool and dropping 3 or 4 vo

. My fan arrived today and definitely came out of the pile marked "quiet". Not that it is silent, but it is very quiet. Nothing like the hefty whine that used to come out of my 781 when the fan cycle
