The other day, I was on SSB 10 meters, at full output of 80 watts, which is all my Corsair II does on 10 meters and I was told I was distorting on peaks. The ALC LED does not light on 10 meters becau

Sounds completely normal to me, Dan. I always ran my Corsair II with adjustment of the ALC to each individual band to just barely "blink" - it kept the SSB audio from distorting. Clark WA3JPG _______

I had a similar situation with one of my Triton 540's. Turn the ALC so that it just blinks on peaks. I was using a "hot" mic and it was overdriving. BTW Shure 526T. I even got a pink card from a "OO"
