I can't communicate with the radio. Do I recall a discussion that you must use a serial cable and not a USB > Serial converter device? What is the workaround if you have no serial port on you compute

You are correct. I needed to reboot my computer to get it to recognize the cable. Just changing it in the Device Manager was not enough. The K4ia "Buck" Fredericksburg, Virginia USA _________________

My experience is that some USB/Serial converters work with some programs and others work with other programs. I've only tried a couple, but not found one that worked perfectly with everything. Mark _
