Hello Winston, I can't answer question #1 but did some testing on question #2. I see little or no attenuation of audio with a NR setting of 5. With a setting of 9 there is some loss of audio but not

You might check your AGC settings and see if you have enough gain for small signals. On my Orion II if the threshold is set too high it could cause too low an audio output with small signals. 73, Mik

To Mike ND4S: What do you usually set your volume control on (%) for normal listening? On loud signals (s9 and up), I can listen around 60-70%, but on weaker signals, I have to crank up to near end o
