Hi Guys, Well during the ARRL DX contest, someone complained key clicks coming from my Omni VI Opt. 3. I have read through the Ten Tec Wiki about this issue and Im a little unclear about what to do.

Have you read http://omni6.wikidot.com/cw-keying and http://n1eu.com/Mods/omni_keying.htm ? The IR 2.8 filter was not a fix for clicks, it was a fix for chirping. Barry N1EU _________________________

All that cable connects to is the sidetone pass around so that part of the sidetone is not controlled by the AF Gain control. Obviously that has no effect on cw xmit. And yes, everybody should unplug

I had already removed cable 52.  Another person told me I was also chirping,   but i can't hear that.  So, I guess I need to kust live with the key clicks?....... Sent via the Samsung Galaxy Note® 4,

Some years back W1AW was using an Omni 6 for transmissions on 1820khz and the clicks were awful. There was a modification created for the radio which fixed the problem, but I don't know if and where

I recall some discussion about one cause of clicks in the Omni VI was the TX carrier BFO frequency being on the skirt of the default 9 MHz IF filter. The one that is used always for SSB TX to reject

In October 1998, Inrad introduced the 2.8KHz filter that cured the chirp issue. W2VJN, the owner of Inrad, himself used an Omni VI+ and responded quickly once the issue with the stock Ten-Tec filter
