Steve, there are apparently trade-off's that must be made to appease the nit pickers who hang 'round here. They find some little thing "wrong" and carp on it until it becomes a huge problem. Then Ten

Mike: Bypassing the entire microprocessor is easy on the 6+. I've been running it that way for some time now. Keying up to 100 wpm with excellent QSK is the result. The downside is that you loose you

Neat trick Paul. I tried this and it does resolve the slow keying issue and like you said, kills the sidetone. It also caused the off-set error because the vco is no longer shifting frequency on key-

QSK with V1.02 is pretty damn fast as long as plug 52 is removed on the IF/AF circuit board. -Paul, W9AC _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com htt

Hi, Steve-- My post, although it must have seemed otherwise, was not directed at you. It is not picky to note that one cannot get proper code from a rig at speeds over 25 wpm. I am just talking about

For a point of reference, I can clearly hear band noise between dits at 35WPM with V1.02. I would consider about 40 WPM on this rig to be the upper useful limit if one must hear between keyed elemen

If TenTec can't supply 1.02, I wonder if there is someone out there who can copy an Eprom? I don't have the equipment here. Steve N4LQ -- Original Message -- From: "Paul Christensen" <w9ac@arrl.net>

I though the same thing. I listened for band noise at about 40 -50 wpm and didn't hear a thing but when Tom hit his key, it popped right through at 80 wpm. True for both the Triton and Omni 6+ in mod

Plug 52 is the well know cure for clicky QSK in your headphones. It's on the logic board and control board. Just unplug it. QSK will greatly improve. No one understands why it's there in the first pl
