I just did an interesting experiment comparing my Paragon 585 (aka "Paragon 1") to an Omni 6+ that I just picked up on Ebay. When I connect my Inrad Key Pulser ( http://www.qth.com/inrad/) to the Par

I don't have experience with a 'pulser' as I've always found it much easier to tune by holding the key down or using the TUNE button. But yes, when Ten Tec changed to Logic chip v1.03, supposedly to

The TUNE button is easier on the operator, but can be harder on the PA if it isn't designed for RTTY service. It also keeps my cantenna dummy load from overheating when testing amplifiers as was the

The Paragon is responding correctly. The pulser is keying the keyer of the Omni VI+. Depending on the Keyer Speed of the Omni VI+ it will be different. 73 Bob, K4TAX _________________________________

No, Bob, I hooked the Key Pulser to the "KEY" input of the Omni 6+ not the keyer paddle input. Otherwise I would still be getting a string of CW characters when I set the pulser to 100% instead of a

Speaking of logic chips... I've got an Omni VI Opt 1 that is in need of some TLC. I'm thinking about sending it to TenTec for them to go through and bring it back to its prime. A couple questions: 1.

No experience with the pulser. I have looked at my Omni VI (version 3) keying envelope with my Tektronix 466 storage scope while sending a string of dits from a Logikeyer K-3, with no weighting added

Interestingly enough, Ken, I just tried using the Omni 6+ with its internal key. With the keyer adjusted for about 30 WPM, a string of dits gives what appears to be an ~33% duty cycle, but I would ha

Hi Michael, I don't know what version firmware is in my Omni VI version 3 radio. Maybe it has the "microchirp". No one has complained about it to me. I'll try listening to it with another receiver to

If found some derivations on the internet that suggest that WPM = 2.4 X the dit frequency. The specs on INRAD website say 50ms pulse rep rate = 48 WPM, which would be consistent with that number (1/5

Could some of these issues be the difference between and Omni VI opt 3 and a Omni VI+? Although the Omni VI with opt 3 installed does have the same features as the Omni VI+, from my experience, they
