I'm thinking that a principal advantage of an OMNI VII over the VI Plus may be an improved NR feature. Anyone care to opine on the effectiveness of the OMNI VII's NR? Or any other advantages it may h

I have both the VI plus and the Omni VII. I much prefer the way the NR works on the 6+ as opposed to the 7. With the 6 the signal/noise ratio seems to improve and the signals just jump right out of t

Good question, John. And very difficult question to answer because it turns on a subjective, personal judgment whether the NR feature is sufficiently good or effective to justify upgrading rigs. Sid

I've been through all this.... I ordered a OMNI-VII with optional 300 and 500 Hz filters on the 30 day trial, set it up along side my OMNI-VI+ with 1.8 KHz, 500, 250 and 1.8 (N1)- 500 (N2) filters, u

First : great reply from Richards. Second : I replaced my Omni VI+ with an Omni VII due to a fatal lightning strike I loved the VI-plus and I missed her for a while - but I have learned to like the V

I asked a question under this topic about the NR function on the OMNI VII back in September. I was remiss in not thanking K8JHR, W3NP. AB9M, and WB9DLC for very helpful replies at that time. Thank yo

John, Thanks for posting this message. I put in a little over 5 hrs this weekend myself and left the event with nearly the same impression. I run a OMNI 6 Opt 3 that has the INRAD roofing filter mod.

There are different Inrad filters available for both the roofing filter (600hz) and 9Mhz i.f. (400hz) that have a lower center frequency for those who prefer a lower pitched sidetone. I can vouch tha
