Hi, I've recently bought an OMNI D and was wondering if there are any mods to reduce the hand capacitance effects on the VFO? My thoughts were: 1) extend the tuning knob with a lightweight plastic co

Ground the PTO shaft. In my Corsair II, there's a wire spring, maybe one or two turns in a flat coil and an end maybe an inch long that wipes on the PTO shaft. I'm sure Tentec put that there intentio

I think the shaft has a grounding feature near the bearing, a spring perhaps, (the PTO shaft). Make sure it has low impedance to chassis ground, by cleaning the leaf spring brass or alloy. 73, Stuart

Actually, TT did not ground the shafts in the Triton and Omni A/D/C series because of the "potential" problems arising from gradual poor connection over time between the wiper spring and the shaft. T

Yes. You can make little wipers from music wire (spring steel) and mount them under the two screws on each side of the PTO shaft (behind the front panel of the rig). Position them so they put slight
