I have been running 1.373b5 (experimental) for a year or so. now and again the radio quits working. so far a shut down and restart fixes the problem. one can go to http://radio.tentec.com/service/dow

The hardware mod is not needed to try/use version 2 firmware. The sweep will not work though without the hardware mod. If the hardware mod is done it does not have to be undone to be able to go back

Here's an update. Investigation showed that the hardware mod has already been done to this radio. Right now I have 2.062a installed and seems fine so far to me, though of course I have a very limited

Here's a big failing of Version 2. You are listening to an S-5 signal. Someone puts an S9+ carrier on the QSO. You push the auto notch. The carrier goes away. The S-meter still says S9+ and pumps acc
