So far I found a 755 and 1847 to replace it. I am sure there are a couple of more Mini number that will substitute and I would like more options. I would like to replace these with one that has a lon

Many times, you can replace a 6 volt bulb with a 12 volt and have enough illumination, yet more than double the expected lifetime. You can also insert a small resistor to drop 10 per cent fo the origi

Another check is the color of the bead inside the lamp. I think the 47 which is 6.3 volt 150 ma T3-1/4 bayonet base has a blue bead. Made by many makers in the past CM is just Chicago Miniature's pre

This one has a white Bead. Don not want to modify the Ten-Tec equipment. Replacing the lamp with a different bulb is OK. Keep The Faith, Jim K9TF/WA9YSD ______________________________________________

Yes, I checked my lamp drawer. 47 is white bead, its a 44 (6.3 volts 250 ma) that is blue bead. Both are common and ordinary and in the past used almost universally at 6.3 volts, though the 47 was mo

The 44 is a 6.3 volt 0.25 amp higher current and usually indicates more heat being dissipated. I will stick with the 755. The brightness on the TT amp and Omni meters appear to match that on the 755

Not usually. Its certain the 44 dissipates more heat. All tungsten lamps put out mostly heat with a little light. So be it. Like said before at least twice, 51 or 1893 or 1891 running at half voltage

For the Collins 28 volt lamp, the 1873 has 0.20A and the 757 at 0.08amps would give you a longer life Even more if you put the risistor in series. If It was my choice I would put in the 757 in your C
