Tim, After you find that Omni-546C, try it on CW with your Idiom Press SCAF-1 audio filter. I built the kit, you can get them wired. It sweetens up the sidetone, takes out the pop, and leaves more be

Don - You must have read my mind. My SCAF filter and, of course, my Logi-Key are sitting here waiting. I suspect the SCAF with an Omni-C would be a very sweet sounding CW machine. 73/Tim Tim, After y

An even better implementation of the SCAF filter would be to get it within the audio AGC loop. I set up my Omni A that way with a Datong FL3 - outstanding! Al, K2ZN __________________________________

I tried putting a DSP filter inside the agc loop on a Triton and it made the pop problem a 100 times worse due to the log delay. Don't count on that working. Steve N4LQ -- Original Message -- From: <

Hi Al, I noticed that during the 10 meter contest weekend, there was some visible pumping. I was pleased to read in the OMNI C manual that the rig's audio filter is within the AGC. So I set that in t

Yup, I've had dismal results with DSP boxes as well. They provide hundreds of microseconds of delay, if not milliseconds; ADC bit noise as well. The FL3 delay is in the tens of microseconds; comparis
