I'd second this. There's a lot to be said for "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"..... Likely more rigs have been shelved due to overzealous application of a "golden screwdriver" than lack of alignment

in Fact, I will relay what our lab and Tektronix, the maker of top of the line oscilloscopes found out back in the height of the tube operated days. Many oscilloscopes would come in for calibration.
