I don't mean to whip a dead horse but I think a reasonable power source besides batteries might interest a few on the list besides me.... if my email is any indication. Here is what I have found rega

"50mA" or (as I think you meant) 50mV? I guess IOTA isn't the 'Islands On The Air' folks? [grin] I would expect that the Okura supply could handle a good deal more with some SERIOUS (as we say in the

Mike wrote, in part: For three years now, I have had two Astron RS-70M supplies in parallel to power my Henry SS750 solid state amp. Did not know Ten Tec also had a solid state amp at that time, hi.

Jim, What's a "sense line" ? I asked Astron about the regulation necessary and was told that the RS-70A/M didn't have a way to link the supplies. All they told me was it "was" possible to pop the cov

The better quality power supplies have an extra set of high-impedance "sensing" terminals that are used like a digital voltmeter. On short runs, they are usually strapped together, However, on longe

I know for sure the RS-70 has a 'sense' line that can be ran in parallel with another RS-70. I beleive that this function is so they can track each other. I do not know if the Rs-50 has this or not.

All well regulated power supplies have this sense line. But in most of them, the line is internal. It is a simple mod to bring this sense line out of the supply and make it external. Carl Moreschi N4

Speaking out of possible ignorance, I would suggest placing a protective resistor between the output and the 'sense' line either right at the output or internal to the supply. This will perhaps preve

One thing I'd like to add. I ran my Herc II for a couple of years with just one Astron 70 amp power supply and it was never lacking from performance. Of course I never was one to operate a radio or a

I also was not familiar with any Astron model having an external sense line. Sense circuitry in lab power supplies have two extra terminals. You run small gauge wire out to the load from them, and it
