I use a 12VDC processor fan from a discarded computer. Plugs in the 12V accessory jack on the radio. Only needed when I run RTTY for a long time. Of course the Omni VI Plus is 100% duty cycle rated.

I do the same thing, except that I bought the fan new ($3). The only problem is that the fan is designed for 12V and my shack supply is more like 13.8 V. The fan sounds like a jet engine at that volt
