An eBay buy, it worked OK for a day or so, and I made a few QSOs on 20m SSB with it. Then it started showing 'funny' behaviour on TX. (All symptoms below are with radio in the "lock"/tuneup position,

If this radio has a built in SWR or ALC metering circuit check each of the diodes. Should be something like 1N270 or even 1N34. If one of the diodes is open, this might cause some funnies in some rig
