Can you determine the real manufacturer of the USB to serial adapter you have? If so, go to their website and download the latest driver software for it. I'm surprised when you plug it in that window

Hi Bill -- By any chance are you using your TT USB-Serial adapter with a USB HUB ? If so... try not doing that. I used to praise the Win 7 drivers for my TT USB-Serial adapter... and now I curse it.

Thanks for the replies! The Ten Tec USB to Serial driver CD that came with my OMNI VII was 2 years old (pre 64 bit Windows 7). It apparently was loading up an old copy of a Prolific driver. As advise
