- Is it me or does it seems the Argo V has way too much gain? I know I can press the attenuator but that reduces the gain a bit too much and I would like to find a happy medium. Is there a way of g

- As much as I like my Argonaut V, it's not the radio to have on in the shack 'just to listen' to the bands. It's noisy! I find if I turn the attn on, then everything is down. I would have really liked

- You could probably switch in a smaller attenuator outboard, but that wouldn't quiet the receiver's internal noise. Maybe its modular enough you could switch in an internal attenuator after the preamp

- Mike: You might try the trick I did with my Scout. If the Argo V has conventional IF amp IC's, you can put a little positive bias on the AGC line to knock down the IF gain. 73, Bob WB2VUF ___________
