I would like to try keying an amp with my Argo V. The ACC din plug has a connector labelled "PTT" The manual indicates this is for remote keying the radio with a TU or whatever. Does anyone know if i

Of course it does. It has a "T" line inside which goes positive whenever the ARG.V goes into transmit. This enables all the other stages needed to transmit. It can also be used as a signal to key the

Nice simple circuit Lee. It certainly works for SSB and CW with a QSK amp, but I would think the slow relays in the old 30L1 and in the AL811 would not be able to follow CW keying. Are you using this

Are you using this in CW too? It is just as simple to add a second transistor stage and add a "hang delay" control - i.e., key the +12 to the relay instead of the ground, and then shunt a variable re

Dave, That is definitely NOT on the accessory connector. The "T" line has NEVER been brought to the real panel for tapping into - not on any transceiver. The AUX Jack (accessory connector) was wired

The delay circuit I referred to "is" exactly the same as used in the Model 318 amp keyer. It uses a 100 uF capacitor and then a 10K pot in series with a 680 Ohm resistor to ground. For an understandi

Correct. If you don't want to modify your Argo V, another approach is to get an RF-switched amp such as the Tokyo Hy-Power HL-100Bdx. It is a 100-watt amp originally designed for the FT-817, but work

Guys, BE VERY CAREFUL about bringing the T-line out of the rig. SPECIFICALLY, DO NOT DO THAT! This is a signal which runs through many stages of the radio. If anything unusual externally touches that
