I got a report running the Scout that there was a chirp on the transmission. Checking the PS the voltage drops from 14.2 to about 10.3 vdc. I was hoping someone could help point me to where to start

It's my understanding that the 937 is a relabeled Astron SL-11. I haven't found a schematic posted anywhere for it yet but the RS series especially the RS-10 or RS-12) are probably very similar elect

Alan, Its usually the power chord. Seating and reseating or just cleaning the contacts can make a difference. The other possibility within your powerchord from the p.s. to the rig is the plug itself,

Don You will have to excuse my ignorance but if it was a filter cap woulDn't there be a slight hum on receive? I hope to get a look at the pass transistors and see if one is not working up to par Ala

Alan - The receive current is much less than when transmitting, Something like an amp or so receive and 10A or whatever transmit. I don't know the Scout's requirements. Voltage shouldn't drop when re

I'd first suspect output cable connections, especially at the radio. Tentec and others have had problems. Then the fuse in the output DC circuit, then one of the pass transistors is likely open and t

The sagging power supply either does not have the inherent current ampacity needed by the Scout, (9 to 10 amps at 13.8 Volts DC) or the capacitors are going and do not have the microfarads to do the
