Hi Duane, On this I'd like to add a comment. One of the issues with the Orion is the design of the Mic Jack, It really needed another pin to return the sheild of the ground. It would be nice also to

just wait till we see the new mic station,,, with the six new extra buttons that can do all sorts of new things...stepping thru pre programmed agc setting... etc... like firing off the cw & new voice

No, Mike. No more than 8 pins would be needed. A multifunction mike stand could serially encode all the commands and use a 2 wire bus. Its done all the time, on other control circuits. Stuart K5KVH _
