I just realized that my 705 mike does not have a 9v battery in it, I wont admit how many years I have been using it, hi hi can someone tell me what the 9v is for, I suspect it has to do with an audio

The battery is needed with some of the older Ten Tec's as well. The Model 540, for example, uses a 1/4 inch stereo phone plug, and there is no voltage to power the electret element in the 705 on the
