The Ten Tec manual has virtually nothing to describe the internal balun supplied with the unit. I do not know how to physically look to tell its design. Is it a 1 to 1 or a 4 to 1; Current or Voltage

Hi Bob, HNY! It might help if you tell us "which" Ten-Tec balun you mean. I will assume you are speaking of the Model 238-x range of matchboxes. They all have a 4:1 Voltage balun which is more or les

As others have said, the internal balun is a 4:1 voltage design - a better option is a 1:1 current balun. I use my TT238 tuner with an external 1:1 current balun comprising 11 turns on two stacked FT

GM Steve, The problem that we are fighting is common mode current . . . which rises when the antenna is closer to the ground (electrically). In all of the tests that I have run on dipoles and OCFD an

One fact that is being missed in this discussion is that the transmission line as a common mode element of the antenna system, and, like any antenna, current varies along the length of every element

Hi Jim, Happy Holidays! Hope you are not affected by the fire. You are an expert on theory but you have often said that you do not like openwire and openwire fed dipoles. I am assuming you have not u
