Sounds like something is out of whack on the timing of your serial connection. The default for the Orion is 57,600 baud, No Parity, 8 Data bits, 1 Stop bit. This should be the setting in your compute

i tried Vista for about a month unsuccessfully. i could not find a way to make my Orion and Vista co-exist. i wiped Vista off my drive and installed XP. no radio problems since. jack ak7o out counter
