I believe it's the same (or very similar) relay used in the Centurion. On that amp, they mount it on a rubber shock mount, if I remember correctly. Wear headphones - that how I cured it. :-) 73, Duan

RF power takes big relays. Big relays have lots a mass in motion and it makes a bang when it hits the contacts and stops. Some relays make more noise than others, and the mounting can easily amplify

Novice Question = Why do I not hear the relays in my Omni VII / Centurion combo when operating SSB-phone? One must have the rig set to full QSK if you follow the instructions on how to run the amp. D
