- Thanks for quick response. Now I know that distortion of signals of S9+35dB and above is known issue and hopefully will be corrected in the new firmware. I have another problem. With 2 el quad on 40m

- I had a chance to play with IC7800 and it is a great TRX, specially on CW with very sharp DSP filters. My Orion in comparison at 100Hz position of DSP filter is more like 300Hz wide-not as good but O

- Grant, 1.No, the real difference will not became apparent because IC7800 can easily handle signal 599+35dB at 1kHz spacing. My Orion and many other Orion's can't handle that with the current fimware.

- Grant, 1.I'm talking about narrow dynamic range as well. Right now Orion will not handle week signal at 1kHz or 5kHz spacing from the strong signal S9 +35dB. This is the fact. Everything is distorted

- Bill, Thanks again for great input. Distortion. Roofing filter 6kHz or 2.4kHz SSB mode. 20m. Lsn to week signal at 14.220 with preamp ON. Distortion, so I tune up 7kHz and there we go S9+37dB station
