Yes if you don't need the relay to drive a linear or an "ON THE AIR" sign (remember those?), it is easy to silence. I did this in my Corsair I and Paragon. The relay is driven by a transistor. Using

Mark, if the CW filter is not centered in the passband, try aligning coil L4 on the PBT (80979) board. This procedure is described in my Corsair manual (1st printing) on page 3-13. With the CW filter

Jim, It sounds like your sidetone is malfunctioning I have a Corsair I and the sidetone is nice and clean. I'll have to check my schematic to see what might be the problem. Maybe there is a filter or

Yes, the Corsair uses a Unijunction transistor (UJT) as the sidetone, but there is an R-C low pass filter on the output to clean up the waveform. Mine doesn't seem unduly raucous, but it may depend o

Actually, Robin, Joe Pursley (KF5MC) came up with the Paragon mod by comparing an older with a newer Paragon. Here is what he found: On the Minor Loop Board: "There was a thermister soldered across p

I've had intermittent PLL board problems with my Paragon, too. Intitially they were hard failures: "PLL OUT OF LOCK", but lately I've had the "garbled audio" which you describe. On CW, it sounds like

To: <tentec@contesting.com> Tahnks for the message, Joe. Yes, I resoldered almost all of the connections on both PLL boards. The minor loop was a bit more effort because the entire bottom is covered
