Correct me if I am wrong (and probably am) but is the 238 not the same electrically as the 229 ??? I bought a 229 for less than $150 and it works just fine. Is there any difference between the 2 ? Ot

How do you get FSK to transmit without a PTT connection? I use MMTTY and cannot get it to transmit without using a COM port for PTT. Jim N4AL FSK requires only the TXD from a comport. In MTTY setup,

Thanks for the suggestion. I am only using pins 2, 3 & 5 for the RS-232 to the computer. I am also using the appropriate pins for the 301 remote knob. No other pins on the Omni VI 25 pin D connector

Eric, try reseating the jumper for txin-txout. Check connections inside the rig, a gentle push or a reseat should work. It may also be in the bandswitch or possibly the crystal may need to be reseate
