I don't agree at all. There's nothing illogical about hitting the mute button while in menu mode. The receiver shouldn't respond that way, and this clearly should be on the list of things to straigh

Ah, that's it. Had to go back and look at my emails to ditsnbits. I found this myself some time ago. I was told by Gary that this is a factory diagnostic/alignment mode, not documented in the manual.
