Several days ago I acquired a beautiful Omni 6+ (564), and love the radio One glitch that I notice is that occasionally the speed of the keyer will vary slightly (speedup by maybe 1-2 wpm). Since the

Thanks to all who responded. I found the fix described in the TT Wiki to be most helpful. I formed a small loop at the end of each lead of a 0.01uF cap, placed the outer pins of the header to the con

While tuning across 20m ssb with my recently acquired Omni VI plus I noticed what first appeared to be S5-6 splatter from a nearby signal. After closer inspection I realized that it was an FM modulat

Paul, Guess I'll let the external LPF do the work and not add an internal LPF on the receive side. Should be very easy mod, but I'll leave the radio as original as possible. Jack K1VT filter in front

In the OmniVI only TX rf is routed through the LPFs on the LP filter board; receive does not see the benefit of these LPFs. However BPFs on the front end board are used for both TX and RX. But in the

The interference not being present on my TS-940S and CorsairII suggests that it is being created within the OmniVI. I will check to see if the diodes are being properly switched and biased, and if ev

I made a similar mod to my 229B tuner. However, instead of using doorknob caps I replaced the originals with 6KV 470pF Y5P ceramics. These capacitors are physically larger than the originals, having

Ken, Do you have any tips for accessing and removing the XTAL OSC/LO Mixer board? I need to reflow solder connections associated with the 15/12M filter, or possibly replace BA482 diodes. Please see m

Hi Ken, Thanks for your quick reply. The filter is shared and switched by either of the 15M or 12M enable DC voltages. The 15M and 12M switching voltages are "ORed" by diodes D33 and D34 near connect

The Omni6+ intermittent problem that I posted on Friday Aug 8 appears to be fixed. FWIW, on Monday I removed the plate on which the NB and FM boards are mounted, to access the XTL osc/L.O. board. All
