I don't know why you would worry that was not the answer I was hoping for. It would be easier, of course, to be able to say "the only sensible choice is the 'DX Pulverizer model xyz'" but for some re

That (relay failure) was given was the cause of the low 30M output and no 160M output on my Omni Vi+ this summer when I sent it in for repairs. All 12 (I think) were replaced at that time. 73 de W6OG
ARRL furnished a nomograph to take the confusion out of the conversions. I think I have one around here someplace. Let me know if you need/want to see it. 73 de W6OGC Jim Allen Sent from my iPad ____
Are you suggesting there is Hertz, and "Not exactly?" If the DX (out of this country) runs on cycles and we run on Hertz, there will be confusion, and despair. 73 de W6OGC Jim Allen _________________
Who is Theodore A. Edison? There was Thomas A., of course, and his son, Theodore M. Edison 73 de W6OGC Jim Allen Sent from my iPad _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list
Right. That is Theodore M. The other post referred to Theodore A. Edison. 73 de W6OGC Jim Allen Sent from my iPad _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting
Googling shows such a volume, by Theo. A., and Amazon has the books listed, published in either 1902 or 1918, a bit early for Theodore M., Thomas's son. I figured it was a misprint, that they were ta
I've trying to get my Congressman to get behind a proposal to change the name of our Capitol to Whackyland, instead of honoring some old guy nobody alive today ever knew. Actually, a more practical a
When my VI+ developed this problem, low output on 30M, it was accompanied by no output on 160M. I sent it in to TT and they replaced all the relays on the filter board. I don't know what else might h

The 130' dipole I have at the moment has been a decent performer on all bands, better on 40 then 80, better on 20 than 40, etc. It is only 32' high at the center and slopes to ~15' at each end. It is
As I get the other two up and running, the dipole is coming down anyway, assuming the replacements described above are an improvement. The AH-4 has no issues with matching this at all, even on 6M. Th
As I understand it, there is no service manual for the Omni VI or VI+, and maybe other models as well. The Manual you describe is it, all there is, along with the wiki that I believe owners have cont
What about Wade Staggs KJ4WS here on the Tentec reflector. He does stuff like that, and handled repairs to my Omni VI that stumped Tentec. 73 de W6OGC Jim Allen Sent from my iPad ____________________
Each time I have sent a radio to Tentec, it came back in a new box. It saves arguments with the shipper over whether or not there was pre-existing damage, evidenced by the box having signs of crush,
When I sent my Omni VI+ in for that, on 160,and low output on 30M, they replaced the relays, all of them for each band. 73 de W6OGC Jim Allen Sent from my iPad _______________________________________
I'm glad you found the fix. Why is it there are so many re-solder fixes these days. I don't recall ever hearing about resoldering on the old gear. Anybody ever have to fix a 75A4 or SX101, etc. by re
