Just a thought (though you may already have had the same thoughts, it is worth a moment!) 1. Check your power cables for voltage drop (improve them as a matter of course) 2. Check your power connecto

A pretty small battery to draw 20 amps on peaks. I suspect that the voltage drop was pretty bad on peaks. I would not use a small battery like that unless I drove the Corsair QRP. Yes. I did SSB. Use

No. Stock is with a pair of 8 pole filters at about 2.4 KHz each. CW/Narrow SSB filters were options. That's about right. Without option 3 (or a true OMNI VI plus) you have one option in the 9 MHz IF

Its similar to the OMNI VI in that it is a very, very fine CW rig and it is still a good SSB rig (but not "optimized" for the SSB operator). The specs on the K2 are really amazing for the price and s

Good question, of course! I've found, in my own experience with several INRAD filters, that they have lower loss (by the Ten Tec "S" meter readings on my OMNI's) but I didn't measure carefully. Georg

Sounds completely normal to me, Dan. I always ran my Corsair II with adjustment of the ALC to each individual band to just barely "blink" - it kept the SSB audio from distorting. Clark WA3JPG _______

I don't believe the noise blanker was an option on either Corsair. I've had many of each rig, and I have the advertising material and manuals, it appears to be standard equipment from that. Clark WA3
