Well, it's been a while since I had the Omni V, but I remember some keying problems with the VOX on. The dit weight almost touching (anything) should not affect the dit length one way or another. But

Well, after ten years or so memory gets tricky but the paddles plugged into a mini stereo phone jack on the right side of the rig, facing the back. Said jack going to the internal keyer, if my memory

Rick: you are correct and I am wrong. The Omni V does not have the internal keyer. And neither I nor the fellow who could not get his bug to work with the V can remember what the problem was. Field D

Bob, I use a frequency counter very loosely coupled to one of my dummy loads to confirm TX frequency - an an ancient 1.0 mHz crystal calibrator zero beat against WWV to confirm the HP's accuracy. Any

Hi Sergio. Amperage draw depends on the load. According to the meters on the Astron, my Orion draws just under 18 amps at 100 watts into a 50 ohm "dummy antenna." It draws a bit more when the SWR goe

Actually, if you measure the current along an on-ground radial you will find there's virtually no current flowing in the radial much beyond the 1/10th wavelength point. And the current falls off even

Spinach should be avoided along with rhubarb and all the other crops that generate oxalic acid. Most commercial radiator cleaners are largely oxalic acid and the residue eats H** out of your radials.
