David, I have them all, but find myself using the 300 Hz filter only in contest situations. Otherwise, I toggle back and forth between 600 and 1.8. That's for CW -- someone else will have to respond

I use auto filter selection after I've decided which of the optional filters I want to enable. The narrower the filter, the more insertion loss, so you don't want to enable the narrowest filters unle

I never had a 565 Orion, but I do see noticeable attenuation with the 300 Hz filter and slight attenuation with the 600 Hz. My default operating position is 600 Hz enabled, 300 Hz off. 73, Ray W2RS _

I hear a sliight echo when listening to Main and Sub, but no over-weighting. The rise/fall setting makes no discernible difference to my Sub sidetone (2.038k). I normally leave it at 5 ms. 73, Ray W2

Yes, I only notice it when headphones are plugged in, and in my case it isn't severe enough to warrant doing anything about it. Simply moving the headphone cable is usually enough to clear it up for

What I hear in the headphones is a "classic" RF hum. I don't know what the "sidetone artifact" problem refers to, but since I don't know, I probably don't have it :-) ________________________________
