I think merge in POST might have a problem dealing with a large file. If you do not need to merge them you can just copy them into one file - in dos the easy way to do that is: copy file1.dat+file2.d

Not sure if it will do the sort, but after having hit the brick wall with large amounts of data with Excel, I've been pleasantly surprised to find that UltraEdit didn't even bat an eyelid when I used
