Thanks to Tree and everyone else for straightening me out -- I was using the wrong character -- the apostrophe rather than the one under the tilde. Live and learn. BTW, I would love to be able to spo

I have never seen this in the default boot-to-DOS state, but have experienced CW hiccups very occasionally in a DOS window, which I also attributed to 95 doing something in the background that stole

The voice of painful experience, tho ... if you're using Drivespace or Doublespace be very wary of write-caching. I lost an entire hard drive because of a power failure in the middle of a cached writ

Boy you got that right! My opto box would key the rig from my LPT2 but the "on" voltage was too high to trigger the VOX. I changed port cards and then the interface wouldn't do anything but key the s

I've just been processing a stack of incoming bureau cards, and have discovered that somehow all of my second day QSOs from the 1998 ARRL CW DX Test are misdated, as if they occurred on the first day

Actually, life is a little simpler than that. On my Win 3.1 machine, Eudora Light does indeed save these messages in 12 pieces, but you can use the SAVE AS command to recombine them as one decodable

I left out a step. Eudora light SAVES AS a big uuencoded file, which you must uudecode to get the zipped archive, which you then unzip to get the individual files for the installation. For example, I

4U1WB is in Washington, DC and counts only as the US. I operated WPX CW from there in 1992 and it was a mixed blessing -- I think I may have the world record for lowest average points-per-qso. Have n

Considering the dirt-cheap price of Tree's exceptional service, I think "please" is always appropriate. As Tree told me off-line not long ago, this *is* a hard one to fix. In the meantime, a couple o
