As I recall, the XP program does not offer a true COM port. Also, the speed of the computer may be too fast. Do you have an older DOS capable computer available? If so, then it might be a better test

Hi Ted, Running one here with XP - not a problem. If you do not have a battery I believe you must use the auto-start routine every time after the unit has been switched off. So for now, I would leave
