When I monitor the beacons with FAROS, my bandwidth is set to 400 Hz and everything works FB. I think a +/- 1.5 KHz window is a waste of bandwidth, especially on a contesting weekend. Jerry W4UK ____

ORIGINAL MESSAGE: REPLY: Agreed. I give the beacons +/- about 200 Hz. If that's not enough, someone needs a better RX. 73, Bill W6WRT _______________________________________________ RTTY mailing list

Absolute *GARBAGE!* Nobody needs more than 400 KHz (+/- 200 Hz) for *CW* beacons. Any (FSK) RTTY signal (mark frequency) below 14.099.700 or above 14.100.470 should be just fine. For AFSK "carrier" f

The beacons operate 24/7 on a fixed frequency and don't command any more protection that the rest of the users....make sure they are not in your passband plus a bit and don't worry about it. The only
