I use the 4 port PCI cards from Byterunner, in fact I have two of them in one machine so I have COM1 through COM10. They work fine. ISA is dead as you have realized. Ron N5IN

With the 2 com ports built into the motherboard plus 8 ports from 2 4 port Byterunner PCI cards I have 10 com ports (COM1 thru COM10) and they all work just fine. They are about a year old, so maybe

When I installed the Byterunner card in a new Windows XP system it did warn me that the driver was not approved or certified or something like that, but I went ahead anyway and it works just fine. I
